Im losing followers for the last few posts, but I have to be honest and stand by what I believe in.

I have nothing but love for my people(regardless of what flag or region or tribe) and I will rep somaalinimo till the day RIP.

I just have to say this, as soon as you guys let go of the anger and resentment, you will realize how much space that shit was taking up in your mind then you have a beautiful opportunity to fill that new found space with positivity and love for your people.

 ok I can’t find the link to what you replied to but im guessing its some anti somaliland BS and seeing as its our independence day today I’m going to keep it short and sweet, Any nation/people who want to be independent, have a right to self-determination - unless we are to condone authoritarian and utterly paternalistic interpretations of liberty, or imperialism.

Notions of “history” are utterly meaningless when you have a people who collectively want to be independent - people who for all means and purposes, function independently, with autonomy over all facets of their society, with their own distinct economy/politics/etc.

Somaliland doesn’t anticipate the fall of somalia and nor do I as a SL supporter, I don’t know why southerners assume we are self hating or have hatred for somalia, “somali” is an ethnicity and the difference between the “somali” in the south and the “somali” in the north is only geographical location and government NOT BLOOD, we are the same but history has shown that us being together does not work.

YOU have chosen to make the LOVE I have for Somaliland, a hatred I have for somalia, and that is a complete lie that you have fabricated inorder to justify your resentment, my family is from all the somali regions, djibouti, ogadenia, somaliland, somalia and kenyan somalia…so I will never cut those ties because my blood and my people are present in those regions but my home is in hargeisa, my flag is red,white,black and green.

Also, I don’t understand why you can’t just live and let live….besides what kind of future do you think that somaliland and somalia can have? when we the people of SL have actively wanted recognition for 21 years…that is not something you can sweep under the carpet and even if we magically decided to be one again, I see nothing good come out of it especially when have been estranged for so long and wanting to be separate for so long, we can’t just pretend what went down didn’t happen.

ofcourse, Ill be honest, I have seen few things that somalilanders have done that I thought was beyond stupid, especially recently the picture that has been going around of  a woman holding up sign insulting somalia, BUT what you need to know is that Somalia’s failure is also Somaliland’s failure and Somaliland’s success and peace is also somalia’s success and peace…because we are ethnically the same people.

I hope in the future, In my lifetime, somaliland is recognised, I hope in my life time, Somalia finds peace and stability (and this is me really reaching for the starts->) but I hope all the land that the neighbouring countries annexed that belonged to the somali people get freed.

besides if you don’t like somaliland, then I’m assuming you don’t like djibouti either, same basic situation( somali people who decided to become a independent state.)

I believe live and let live, if you were a real somali then you would be happy for your brothers and sisters in the north who don’t have to worry about gunshots and warlords.

thats why I have mad love for maryam mursal, she is so damn diplomatic, its beautiful and inspiring, she doesn’t delude herself with tribal bullshit.

uuf somalis ingeneral though, we are dad aad u qadhaad, we can’t simply be happy for each other, we always have to bring each other down.
